Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Ground Pork
  • 3 Cloves Garlic (Miced)
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Carrot (Finely chopped)
  • 1 Stalk Celery (Finely chopped)
  • 1.5 Cups Beef Broth
  • 2 TBS Tomato Paste
  • 1 Can Diced Tomatoes (4.5 oz)
  • 1 Can Tomato Sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 TBS Garlic Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 TBS Italian Seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for topping
  • Dried Parsley for topping
Instructions
  1. Prep the Veggies:
    • Start by finely chopping the carrot and celery. Mince the garlic cloves.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics:
    • In a large pot or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped carrot and celery, and sauté for about 5 minutes, until they’re softened.
  3. Brown the Meat:
    • Add the ground beef and ground pork to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. This should take about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Add Garlic:
    • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Combine the Sauce Ingredients:
    • Add the beef broth, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the pot. Stir well to combine.
  6. Season:
    • Sprinkle in the garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together.
  7. Simmer:
    • Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.

  8. Taste and Adjust:
    • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you want more flavor, you can add more garlic salt, Italian seasoning, or a dash of salt and pepper.
  9. Serve:

Serve the Ragu sauce over your favorite pasta and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and dried Parsley. Enjoy! 🧀✨

  10. Tips:
    • Feel free to add a splash of red wine for extra depth of flavor while the sauce simmers.
    • You can also add parmesan to the sauce while it's cooking for a creamier sauce.
    • This sauce freezes well, so you can make a big batch and save some for later!
