Soft and Chewy Snickerdoodle Cookies

There’s nothing quite like the warm, comforting aroma of freshly baked snickerdoodle cookies wafting through your kitchen. These classic treats, with their soft and chewy texture, are rolled in a delightful mixture of cinnamon and sugar, making each bite a sweet little hug. Perfect for cozy evenings or holiday gatherings, snickerdoodles are super easy to whip up, and they never fail to impress!

Ingredients
    Cookie dough:
  • 1.5 Cups Sugar
  • 1/3 Cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs Large
  • 1.5 tsp Vanilla
  • 3 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 1.5 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Water (*If dough is too dry)
  • For rolling the cookies:
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 TBS Cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat oven to 375
  2. Mix in the Wet Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. Combine the Dry Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar:
    • In a small bowl, mix the 1/2 cup of sugar and 1.5 TBS of cinnamon together.
  6. For the Cookies:
    • Scoop out heaping oversized tablespoon portions of dough (or use an ice cream scoop) and roll them into balls. Then, roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
  7. Bake:
    • Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.

  8. Cool:
    •  Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
