Ingredients
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 2 TBS Sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 3/4 Cups Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar
Instructions
  1. Preheat Oven:

    450°F (232°C).

  2. Mix Dry Ingredient

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, 2 TBS of sugar, 4 tsp of baking powder baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

  3. Add Wet Ingredients:

Add 1 cup milk and 1 egg. Stir until just combined. The dough should be soft and sticky.

  4. Cut in Butter:

Drop cold butter cubes into the dough. Use a pastry cutter or two knives to cut the butter into the dough until you have small pieces throughout. Do not overmix; you want small butter pieces in the dough.

  5. Prepare Dough:

Sprinkle flour on a hard surface. Flatten the dough with your hands to about 1/2 inch thick.

  6. Bake:

Place biscuits 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
