Instructions
-
Prepare the Ingredients:
- Slice the skirt steak against the grain into thin strips. This will help make the beef tender.
- Rinse and chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
-
Make the Sauce:
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, water or beef broth, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
-
Make the Cornstarch Slurry:
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water until smooth. This will be added to the sauce later for thickness.
-
Season the Beef:
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced skirt steak with garlic salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until the beef is evenly coated.
-
Cook the Beef:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, add the seasoned beef and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
-
Cook the Broccoli:
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender but still crisp.
-
Combine Everything:
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce over the mixture and stir to combine. Add the cornstarch slurry, stirring well to incorporate. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and broccoli.
-
Serve:
- Remove from heat and serve your delicious beef with broccoli stir fry over rice or noodles, if desired. Enjoy!
